Mumbai. The death of Rishi Kapoor at the age of 67 has left Bollywood and his fans unhappy. Rishi Kapoor has worked in 121 films in his career, but the importance of Damini cannot be forgotten in all of them. The special thing is that this film was released on April 30, 1993, exactly 27 years before the death of Rishi. The film proved to be a superhit.

Jackie Shroff was offered the role of Rishi: The film’s producers Karim Morani and Eli Morani first approached Jackie Shroff for the role of Rishi Kapoor. However, Jackie refused to do the film due to differences with director Rajkumar Santoshi and that is why Rishi again played Shekhar Gupta in the film. This was Rishi Kapoor’s last film with Rajkumar Santoshi.

Directors wanted to take Dimple in the film: There were reports of estrangement between Rajkumar Santoshi and Meenakshi Seshadri during the production of the film. After which Santoshi wanted to remove Dimple Kapadia in the film by removing Meenakshi but Rishi Kapoor did not let this happen. According to reports, Rishi told Santoshi that he would leave the film if he took Dimple into the film. After this, Santoshi also approached Sridevi but his fees were very high due to which Santoshi had to make a film with Meenakshi.

Sunny Deol received National Award: The film’s story was based on a serious issue like rape in which Sunny played a lawyer. In the film, he comes after the second half but is overshadowed by the strong dialogue and acting. He received the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for his acting in the film.
