The Indian Army has deployed women troops along the Line of Control (LOC) adjoining Pakistan for the first time for internal security and participation in the war. These women soldiers have been deployed on deputation from paramilitary force Assam Rifles in the Tangdhar sector of North Kashmir.

A team of around 30 women soldiers is led by Captain Gursimran Kaur. She belongs to Army Service Corps and is the third generation military officer of her family.

According to an official, women soldiers have been deployed from LOC for security checkpoints through crowd control and women security. According to intelligence, arms and drugs are smuggled here from across the border.

Earlier, in the mid-1990s, women were seen in small numbers as military officers. The work given to them was also limited. But the previous Army has posted about 50 women in the CMP as jawans or soldiers. Currently, these women are undergoing training.

These women who have died for the country are contributing their hundred percent in achieving success.
